Job Description

Tasks

  • Your task is to define & design PR strategies for the areas of entertainment & cinema - including communication goals, especially for our OTT product WOW
  • You're responsible for the planning, monitoring, implementation & evaluation of holistic PR campaigns - this includes the management of agencies, continuous success tracking & the optimization of PR results with derivation of strategic recommendations for action
  • As a communicative interface, you coordinate with the social media, marketing, media strategy & event department to ensure an efficient, holistic overview of the paid, earned & owned media budget
  • You're involved in constant market & trend monitoring & analysis, also with regard to content, products, innovations & price developments of competing companies
  • Through very close coordination & cooperation with the Content, WOW & Sport PR departments, but also with Corporate Comms, Marketing & Social Media to ensure coordinated external communication & alignment, you can make a central contribution
  • In addition to creating regular reports to generate insights & continuous improvement suggestions, you'll be responsible for actively shaping communication even in PR crises & ensuring coordinated crisis communication with corporate comms & other internal stakeholders
  • You act as the leader of a team of high-performing, business-oriented PR professionals who position our brands as German market leaders in an innovative, motivated, independent & responsible manner

Requirements

  • You've a degree in business, journalism, marketing or similar as well as at least 8-10 years of experience in PR, corporate communications or journalism - ideally in the media industry & at least 5 years of experience in a personnel management position
  • You'd describe yourself as a collaborative team player & creative problem solver whose focus is more on practical & scalable implementation than on theory & are curious to find out where PR makes a difference & always ready to optimize the existing & put ideas into action
  • Besides your proven leadership skills in a fast-changing environment & the ability to break down an overarching strategy into concrete, appropriate tasks, to maintain your own focus & that of the team even under changing conditions, you're characterized above all by your ability to develop teams at both individual and corporate level to meet high standards & your understanding of German consumers
  • You're able to juggle multiple large & complex projects under time pressure & adapt to changing situations and have sound judgment to decide when escalation is required
  • In particular, your strengths include running successful PR campaigns, including managing external agencies & effective competitor monitoring to recommend ideas to differentiate Sky from the competition, as well as exercising independent judgment & taking the initiative to identify opportunities
  • Proven ability to develop & execute PR campaigns that drive commercial results & ensure that each activity has a strategic objective that guides planning & execution is demonstrated through practical experience
  • You describe yourself as confident in dealing with internal & external interlocutors as well as working with senior leadership & within a matrix structure, including contributing ideas, opinions & input and the ability to multitask, manage time efficiently & take on new activities as business needs & priorities change, as well as a willingness to learn, a "can do" attitude, solid interpersonal skills & ability to work in a team, characterize you
  • Very good German and good English skills complete your profile (written & spoken)
