Senior Product Manager Data, Unterfoehring

Technology and IT | 16 April 2024 | 4 mins

I'm a Senior Product Manager within the Sky Data organisation, based in Unterföhring, and I'm supporting the streaming business, WOW.

All the corresponding data is handled by our group colleagues in the UK and we are working together as one team.

Since the end of 2023, I'm also supporting our streaming business in Italy, aligning the data requirements and project roadmaps of both territories with the global business, and help negotiating strategic milestones.

What is it that you love most about your role?

I love working with colleagues from (and in) so many different countries. We learn from each other, and I get to meet many interesting and lovely people, especially when travelling to the offices in London and Milan. I even found new friends among them.

Describe a project, or career highlight where you were able to make a difference.

The product itself is exciting and on the verge of becoming a truly global service. The streaming content of WOW/NOW and Peacock is moving to one mutual platform. It will become a joint effort to reach customers not only in Europe, but also the US where Now TV launched in 2023. Customers will be able to use the streaming service wherever they go.

At Sky we’re always challenging ourselves to deliver the next big thing. Describe what that’s like and why it’s exciting

The WOW subscription related data was migrated to a new platform before I joined the Data Team. The business in Germany felt overwhelmed and needed someone to help co-ordinate, and communicate, their needs with the group colleagues in the UK.

I was able to fill a gap that caused a lot of frustration on both sides, which I could solve just by being there and building a bridge between them. As a result, I was asked to also support the NOW business in Italy.

How is Sky an inclusive place to work where you can be yourself?

In our data world, there are no boundaries or prejudices when it comes to diversity and inclusion. We have colleagues from all countries, backgrounds and all genders.

I feel empowered and happy to be part of such a fantastic team.
