As a System Engineer, I'm part of the Domain Architecture team in our Sky Sales & Service Program, and therefore responsible for the overall architecture of one of the agile solution trains.
Our main task is to design the technical solution for new business processes, always making sure the end-to-end integrity and consistency of the technical design.
We ask ourselves: Is our solution scalable and extendable? Does our solution also work long term? Can we react flexibly to market influences and unforeseen requirements?
The collaboration with great, smart colleagues. Our brainstorming sessions where we are creative and bring together all our knowledge to find the best solution.
I also love that every day is different. As an architect, you have to deal with new questions and challenges almost every day and it never gets boring. I like a good daily challenge!
After almost 12 years at Sky, I’ve been involved in several significant projects throughout my career.
One of my small passions is optimizing the loading time of websites. A few years ago, I put a lot of passion and energy into it and was able to almost halve the loading time for the Sky Ticket website (today WOW). That was one of my personal highlights and it was a significant improvement for our customers.
I also want to highlight the work in our Sales & Service program: we ask ourselves every day, how we can simplify processes for our customers or automate workflows to simplify our colleagues' daily work, so that they can focus on more valuable work?
I have been working for Sky for almost 12 years now, and it never got boring.
We never rest on past successes, but constantly work on the next big thing or improvement. With the right level of passion, there are always opportunities to learn and grow at Sky.
The best thing working at Sky are the colleagues. Everyone is super helpful. Whether it’s a technical question or if you just need a listening ear.
Innovative ideas are always welcome and valued, no matter what grading you have. It also feels great to be empowered to make decisions, which helped me to develop myself further.
As the only female architect within my team (and a significant development in my career), I can only encourage my female colleagues to believe in yourself, trust your skills and you can thrive at Sky.
