As Head of Factual Channels, together with my team I am responsible for all Sky owned documentary content. We are on the lookout for new exciting documentaries for our customers. Both for WOW, and for our three linear documentary channels; Sky Crime, Sky Documentaries and Sky Nature.

What is it that you love most about your role?

The variety and diversity! Both in terms of the content of our documentaries (we offer our customers a wide range from exciting true crime series to thrilling sports documentaries and visually stunning nature formats), as well as the cooperation with many different stakeholders, departments and licensors.

Describe a project, or career highlight where you were able to make a difference.

I am proud that, thanks to our own German Sky Original productions, many documentaries are available on Sky and WOW that deal with important and burning issues of our time. Be it climate change ("Inside Greenpeace"), sustainability ("Der stärkste Gegner - Eintracht Frankfurt und die Nachhaltigkeit") or equal rights ("Her Story").

At Sky we’re always challenging ourselves to deliver the next big thing. Describe what that’s like and why it’s exciting.

Every day, my team and I are on the lookout for new documentary highlights that, at best, ensure talkability and that our customers enjoy discovering and watching. The factual market is still huge - a good sense for successful content and swift action are therefore very important!

How is Sky an inclusive place to work where you can be yourself?

In order to find the best topics for our high-quality in-house productions, we regularly discuss new pitch papers in large groups together with the executive producers - everyone can give their opinion openly and honestly and the feedback from our working students is just as important as the VP's opinion. I am very grateful to work in a company where every voice is heard and taken seriously.
