As HR Process Manager, my goal is to simplify and optimise our daily tasks and processes in HR with the help of digital solutions. Straight after school, I completed a dual study programme at our Sky site in Schwerin. I was then taken on by the HR team as the person responsible for our trainees and, after a few years, took the opportunity to move to our head office in Munich to take on a new role.
What is it that you love most about your role?
Collaboration with the individual teams within HR. Cross-team project work creates the opportunity to get to know new colleagues again and again, from whom you can learn a lot.
This networking doesn't just help you in your job, it also opens the door to unique experiences. For example, as an avid Formula 1 fan, I was once able to sit in the control room at a Grand Prix thanks to my network and follow the race from this perspective - an unforgettable day.
Describe a project, or career highlight where you were able to make a difference.
After we had successfully completed a project, it was my job to present the results to the division management. I had prepared very well for this presentation, and used some models from my studies to explain the results.
In the end, the presentation went so well that I subsequently received a job offer to work at Sky's head office in Munich. The rest is history.
At Sky we’re always challenging ourselves to deliver the next big thing. Describe what that’s like and why it’s exciting.
With my training in HR, the new task of process optimisation, which required a major expansion of my IT knowledge. This was a challenge at first.
When developing my first app, I wasn't completely sure whether I could manage it, and whether everything would go according to plan. When the app was then announced at a staff meeting in front of several hundred colleagues, it was received with great applause.
It was a tremendous sign of appreciation for me, which increased my motivation for further development even more.
How is Sky an inclusive place to work where you can be yourself?
The people here make Sky a place where you can be proud to be yourself. Every employee has their own exciting story, which is what makes our workforce so diverse and unique.
