About this programme

Ever wondered how a company like Sky decides what to do next? Whether it’s launching a new product, investing in cutting-edge tech, or expanding into new markets — our Strategy team is behind the big decisions that keep us ahead of the game. As an intern, you’ll get a front-row seat to how strategy works in real life. You’ll work with senior leaders, explore new ideas, and help shape the future of one of Europe’s leading media and entertainment brands.

We’re looking for curious minds, fresh perspectives, and people who love solving problems. If you’re someone who asks “why?” and “what if?”, this is your chance to turn those questions into real impact.

And if you impress us, you could land a place on our Business Strategy graduate programme starting in September 2027.

What you’ll be doing

During your internship, you’ll dive into the world of corporate strategy and get hands-on experience with projects that matter. You’ll:

  • Research industry trends and competitor activity to spot new opportunities
  • Use data and insights to help define Sky’s next big moves
  • Support strategy projects involving customer research, analysis, and business case development
  • Receive training in key strategy skills like data interpretation, research, and presenting
  • Collaborate with teams across Sky and build your professional network
  • You won’t just be watching from the sidelines — you’ll be contributing ideas, solving problems, and learning how strategy shapes everything we do.

What we’re looking for

We’re open to students from any degree background, as long as you’re in your penultimate year and graduating in 2027. What matters most is your mindset. We’re looking for people who are:

  • Naturally curious and full of ideas
  • Confident with numbers and data
  • Great at communicating and presenting
  • Collaborative and keen to learn from others
  • Passionate about making a real impact

To be eligible for this role you are required to have the appropriate right to work in the UK by the start date of the programme. Please be aware Sky does not offer sponsorship for this programme.

Application journey

  • Prep Hub

This optional step will help you prepare for our application process — and you can access it before you’ve even applied.

  • Application

Time to submit your application on our system. We’ll be asking for your personal details, academic information and everything else that you think would be relevant such as work experience. That’s all there is to it.

If we need to make adjustments to make you feel more comfortable at any stage, please let us know when you apply — we’ll be in touch to discuss.

  • Digital Assessment

Once your application is in, we’ll ask you to complete our immersive digital assessments. They’re mostly situational questions and will also include a video interview.

We understand that you might want to utilise AI to support your preparation for taking the assessments – understanding Sky etc. But we ask that you complete the assessments themselves without the assistance of AI.

  • Assessment Centre

For the final assessment stage, we’ll invite you to our bespoke virtual assessment centre. You’ll get the opportunity to impress us in person and get a feel for what it’s really like to work at Sky.

The day could include an individual interview, group discussion or individual exercise. We’ll give you plenty of notice and let you know how best to prepare for the day.

    Strategy Intern

I would recommend anyone to do the strategy internship who wants to learn about business or about the media industry because of the quality of education that it gives you. It teaches you everything in a very high quality, but very understandable and friendly way and I think its been invaluable.
