Join the software development team at the forefront of developing great quality software. Learn agile techniques. Produce clean, testable and documented code. Take a proactive role in helping the team choose the best solutions and technologies for the task at hand. Nothing happens on-screen without the talented people behind the scenes, working their magic every day at Sky. Join us for an internship in our software engineering team and you’ll be working in a fun, fast-moving environment. Impress us, and we may well offer you a full-time position once you graduate – starting summer 2025.

What you’ll be doing

Refine your coding skills, whether you’re a newbie or you’ve dabbled for a while
Help us build a new product or app.
Create, maintain and improve automated test scripts
Ensure deployed products remain available and diagnose issues when they occur 
Get involved in scaling applications and products when popularity increases or where user demands peak expectations.

What we’re looking for

The one essential requirement is that you're currently studying for an undergraduate degree in any subject, and in your penultimate year.

Other skills we’re looking for include:

Be familiar with a modern-day programming language
Passionate about software and technology
A quick learner and team player 
Analytical and enjoy using logic to solve problems.

To be eligible for this role you are required to have the appropriate right to work in the UK by the start date of the programme. Please be aware Sky does not offer sponsorship for this programme.

Time to submit your application on our system. We’ll be asking for your personal details, academic information and everything else that you think would be relevant such as work experience. That’s all there is to it.

Digital Assessments
Once your application is in, we’ll ask you to complete our immersive digital assessments. They’re mostly situational questions and will also include a video interview. You’ll also take part in an additional test where you can show us your coding skills.

We understand that you might want to utilise AI to support your preparation for taking the assessments – understanding Sky etc. But we ask that you complete the assessments themselves without the assistance of AI.
Assessment Centre
For the final assessment stage, we’ll invite you to our bespoke in-person assessment centre. You’ll get the opportunity to impress us in person and get a feel for what it’s really like to work at Sky.

The day could include an individual interview, group discussion or individual exercise. We’ll give you plenty of notice and let you know how best to prepare for the day.
