Data Science is at the heart of decision making and customer treatments in Sky. We provide analytics to inform customer growth strategies, create tooling to drive personalised customer treatments and champion test and learn through experimentation.

You’ll learn from the best in industry get support in bringing your ideas to life. Impress us, and we may well offer you a full-time position on a graduate programme once you graduate.

What you’ll be doing

On our Data Science internship, you’ll have exposure across the business as you work with our stakeholders to help drive decision making using the power of data and insights. You’ll learn analytical techniques and use cutting edge predictive algorithms to deliver valuable insight to the business. You could be helping to build our next data product, predicting future customer behaviour, or unlocking the value of our content.

You’ll get exposure to one of our Data Science teams in Sky Data:

  • Data Science & Analytics – Consumer – work closely with the commercial teams, building data science models and data products, helping to inform and drive strategic decisions.

  • Data Science & Analytics – Content - work with our viewing data to build personalised customer experiences and help them to find more of what they love to watch.

  • Data Science & Analytics – Product & Operations – work with the product teams to build new data tools and help to improve the effectiveness and performance of the products our customers use everyday.

What we’re looking for

You're a graduate from any degree discipline, or soon will be. You’re likely to have studied maths, statistics, computer science, economics, physics or be able to demonstrate your understanding of the use of data through personal or university projects. We’re interested in your passion for data and the drive and ambition you can bring to the team.

Other skills you may have include:

  • Logical, end to end thinker
  • An enthusiastic problem-solver, with numerical, presentation and IT skills
  • Previous experience in data manipulation using Python, SQL, R, SAS, MATLAB
  • Machine learning - academic experience on Supervised/unsupervised learning, regression, decision trees, random forests, boosting
  • Enjoy task-focused delivery, a fast-paced environment and overcoming challenges
  • Collaborative, great with people and keen on following recent trends in the market

To be eligible for this role you are required to have the appropriate right to work in the UK by the start date of the programme. Please be aware Sky does not offer sponsorship for this programme.

  • Application

    Time to submit your application on our system. We’ll be asking for your personal details, academic information and everything else that you think would be relevant such as work experience. That’s all there is to it.

  • Digital Assessment

    Once your application is in, we’ll ask you to complete our immersive digital assessments. They’re mostly situational questions and will also include a video interview.

    We understand that you might want to utilise AI to support your preparation for taking the assessments – understanding Sky etc. But we ask that you complete the assessments themselves without the assistance of AI.

  • Assessment Centre

    For the final assessment stage, we’ll invite you to our bespoke virtual assessment centre. You’ll get the opportunity to impress us and get a feel for what it’s really like to work at Sky.

    The day could include an individual interview, group discussion or individual exercise. We’ll give you plenty of notice and let you know how best to prepare for the day.
