About this programme

Do you want to help invent the tech your friends and family use every day?

From Sky Q to Sky Glass and our broadband routers, our products are in over half of UK homes, and you may have used them yourself. On our two-year Hardware grad programme, you’ll rotate through exciting roles, tackle real challenges, and shape how millions stream.

No need to specialise early, explore it all and find your fit.

What you’ll be doing

Explore hardware engineering from every angle.

Over two years, you’ll rotate through key areas, such as:

  • Product Design – think system architecture, schematics, layout
  • Testing & Compliance – make sure everything works, safely
  • Research & Development – help shape what’s next

From day one, you’ll be working on live projects, trying out new ideas, and teaming up with brilliant minds. By the end, you’ll have the skills to step into a permanent role and help drive the future of our tech.

Transferable soft skills including:

  • Collaboration
  • Problem solving
  • Presentation and report writing

Hard skills including:

  • Schematic design
  • PCB layout
  • Compliance testing
  • Product reliability testing
  • Understanding product lifecycles

This programme would lead to various roles based in electronic engineering – including, but not limited to:

  • Hardware engineer
  • PCB engineer
  • Test engineer
  • Compliance engineer
  • Engineering manager
  • R&D Engineer
  • RF Engineer

What we’re looking for

  • You’ve got (or are about to get) a degree in engineering or something similar, and you’re all about tech.
  • You stay on top of the latest trends, love solving problems, and bring a can-do attitude to everything you do.
  • You’re a strong communicator, a team player, and ready to make an impact.
  • You’ll also need the right to work in the UK by the time the programme starts—we’re not able to offer visa sponsorship at this time.

  • Application

Time to submit your application on our system. We’ll be asking for your personal details, academic information and everything else that you think would be relevant such as work experience. That’s all there is to it.

If we need to make adjustments to make you feel more comfortable at any stage, please let us know when you apply — we’ll be in touch to discuss.

  • Digital Assessment

Once your application is in, we’ll ask you to complete our immersive digital assessment, which tests behavioural strengths and motivation for the role in one assessment.

We understand that you might want to utilise AI to support your preparation for taking the assessments – understanding Sky etc. But we ask that you complete the assessments themselves without the assistance of AI.

  • Assessment Centre

For the final stage, we’ll invite you to our assessment centre and give you some tasks to get to know you better. The day will give you a practical insight into what it’s like to work as a hardware engineer and will assess your technical aptitude.

  • We'll be in touch

Once you’ve completed all the assessment steps, we’ll let you know when you can expect to hear back from us.
