About this programme

Rubbing shoulders with leading marketers, media planners and strategy experts. Getting the whole country excited about a new show. Launching brand new products to the market. There’s only one place where you’ll see action like this in your career – and that’s Sky.

Join our Business Strategy programme and spend two years taking on varied roles, rising to unique challenges and working on the kind of exciting projects you just don’t find anywhere else. All while discovering first-hand how we bring millions of people the entertainment they know and love.

And the best thing is you don’t have to specialise too soon. Want to learn how to manage a world-class brand? Explore the world of media, marketing or communications? Help define our five-year strategy. Develop real commercial expertise? With this programme, you can do any or all of them before deciding which area to focus on for your first permanent role.

What you’ll be doing

There are lots of different paths you could potentially go down, whether you’re more interested in pursuing a career in branding or marketing, or in the strategy and commercial side of our business. Whichever route you choose, you’ll do four wide-ranging rotations, potentially exposing you to everything from Marketing and Project Management to Strategy and Corporate Affairs.

During the first year, you’ll learn our foundation principles about how we work and how different departments operate. Graduates will receive two 6-month rotations in our consumer group. Here you will experience one creative role within our marketing and insight teams, and one numerical based role in our commercial and trading disciplines.

In your second year, you’ll experience two further rotations. At this stage you get to decide your pathway by opting for roles that are the best fit for you and your career aspirations. All of them will present challenges and opportunities you won’t find anywhere else.

Departments may include but not limited to: Marketing, Marketing Strategy, Insight and Analytics, Propositions, Trading, Commercial, Women in Sport, Corporate Affairs and Commercial Content Strategy.

Whichever path you choose, you’ll hit the ground running and get stuck into complex and challenging projects. You could be developing mobile sales plans. Leading key pieces of consumer research. Creating a marketing campaign for a brand-new show. The opportunities are endless.

The best part? You’ll get to work alongside lots of great and talented people. Develop some amazing business skills. And help shape where our multibillion-pound business goes next.

What we’re looking for

The one essential requirement is that you have an undergraduate degree (or are about to complete one). Our programme is designed to give you all the knowledge and experience you need. So, it doesn’t matter what your degree is in. We’re much more interested in the passion, drive and talent you’re able to bring to the team.

To be eligible for this role you are required to have the appropriate right to work in the UK by the start date of the programme. Please be aware Sky does not offer sponsorship for this programme.

Application journey

  • Prep Hub

This optional step will help you prepare for our application process — and you can access it before you’ve even applied.

  • Application

Time to submit your application on our system. We’ll be asking for your personal details, academic information and everything else that you think would be relevant such as work experience. That’s all there is to it.

If we need to make adjustments to make you feel more comfortable at any stage, please let us know when you apply — we’ll be in touch to discuss.

  • Digital Assessment

Once your application is in, we’ll ask you to complete our immersive digital assessments. They’re mostly situational questions and will also include a video interview.

We understand that you might want to utilise AI to support your preparation for taking the assessments – understanding Sky etc. But we ask that you complete the assessments themselves without the assistance of AI.

The day could include an individual interview, group discussion or individual exercise. We’ll give you plenty of notice and let you know how best to prepare for the day.

Id recommend someone to do the business strategy grad programme. Sky is such a big company that theres so many good people that you can work with, and I think when youre able to rotate around you build up a network of people that are really important further down the line.
