I work as a Manufacturing Quality Manager within Group Manufacturing organisation, partnering closely with Product Development, Engineering, Procurement, and our global manufacturing partners.
My role focuses on ensuring Sky’s products are built to the highest quality, reliability, and sustainability standards from early design through mass production.
Prior to this role, I worked in Sky’s In-Life team as Senior Quality Engineer - where I supported products already in the market. That experience gave me strong exposure, introduction of all material and process changes into both manufacturing and service partners for all Sky hardware products - ensuring high standards of quality and compliance is maintained whilst minimising associated cost and lead time.
In my current role, I work with cross functional teams across Product Quality, Mechanical, Electrical, and Supplier Quality, supporting activities such as supplier qualification, component‑functional teams across Product Quality, Mechanical, Electrical, and Supplier Quality, supporting activities such as supplier qualification, component and product validation, change management, and risk mitigation.
A key part of my work is translating technical and quality requirements into scalable manufacturing processes, while balancing cost, sustainability, and time to‑to‑market.
Collaboration is central to how I work. I regularly engage with internal teams and external partners to solve complex technical challenges, drive continuous improvement, and ensure our products deliver a consistently high quality‑quality experience.
Sustainability is also an important focus, from encouraging best practice certifications to supporting energy‑practice certifications to supporting energy efficient and responsible manufacturing. Being part of Tech, Product & Data at Sky means working at the intersection of technology, product innovation, and customer impact—where quality isn’t just about compliance‑efficient and responsible manufacturing.
Being part of Tech, Product & Data at Sky means working at the intersection of technology, product innovation, and customer impact—where quality isn’t just about compliance, but about building products customers can trust throughout their entire lifecycle.
What is it that you love most about your career in Tech, Product & Data at Sky?
What I love most about my career in Group Manufacturing at Sky is the real-world impact, and the continuous learning it offers. The work we do doesn’t stay abstract – it directly shapes how millions of customers experience Sky every day, whether that’s through smarter products, more reliable technology, or improvements that genuinely make a difference.
I’m particularly motivated by the opportunity to solve complex problems and improve how things work at scale. There’s a strong focus on quality, innovation and doing things better than before, which makes the work both challenging and rewarding.
You’re encouraged to think critically, challenge the status quo, and contribute ideas that lead to meaningful improvements.
Another thing I value is the collaboration across disciplines. Tech, Product and Data don’t operate in silos at Sky; instead, there’s strong teamwork between engineers, product leaders, analysts and operational teams. That cross-functional way of working not only leads to better outcomes, but also helps you grow by learning from people with different perspectives and expertise.
Finally, what really stands out is the people and the culture. There’s a genuine emphasis on inclusion, development and doing the right thing – for customers, colleagues and the wider environment. Being trusted with responsibility, supported to develop, and knowing that the work contributes to something bigger makes my career at Sky both motivating and fulfilling.
I feel Sky shows up strongly in the Tech, Product & Data industries through its willingness to innovate at scale while staying grounded in real customer needs. There’s a clear focus on building technology and products that are not just exciting or cutting edge, but genuinely useful, reliable‑edge, but genuinely useful, reliable and accessible to a wide range of customers.
What stands out is Sky’s approach to modern ways of working. Teams are encouraged to experiment, iterate and learn, using agile and product led methodologies that support continuous improvement rather than one‑led methodologies that support continuous improvement rather than one‑off delivery. This creates an environment where innovation feels practical and achievable, not just theoretical.
Sky also demonstrates leadership through its openness to new technologies and evolving skill sets. There’s a strong emphasis on learning, upskilling and adapting as the industry changes, which helps people stay relevant and confident in a fast‑moving tech landscape. That investment in people is just as important as the investment in tools or platforms.
Finally, Sky differentiates itself by how it balances innovation with responsibility. There’s a clear awareness of quality, sustainability and long term‑term impact, ensuring that progress is made thoughtfully and ethically. That combination of ambition, collaboration and responsibility is what I believe allows Sky to stand out in the Tech, Product & Data space.
What has been a career highlight/project for you that allowed you to make a difference?
A career highlight for me was working on an initiative that improved product quality for customers while reducing waste and environmental impact. By collaborating across teams, we prevented issues before they reached customers, creating a more reliable experience and reducing rework and resource use.
Knowing the work improved customer satisfaction while also supporting sustainability made it especially meaningful.
What about your role makes you feel excited, ambitious and inspired?
What excites and inspires me most about my role is the constant opportunity to learn, improve and make an impact.
There’s a strong sense of momentum — whether it’s tackling new challenges, collaborating with different teams, or finding better ways to deliver quality and innovation at scale.
I’m particularly motivated by the scope for progression and growth. You’re encouraged to develop new skills, take on responsibility, and step outside your comfort zone, which keeps the work fresh and ambitious. That support to grow, combined with trust from leadership, makes it easy to stay engaged and motivated.
Collaboration also plays a big part. Working alongside people with diverse expertise and perspectives creates an environment where ideas evolve quickly and improvement is continuous.
That mix of challenge, support and forward thinking is what gives my role at Sky its real “never stand still” energy.
How would you describe the inclusive environment at Sky?
I would describe the inclusive environment at Sky as genuine, supportive and people centred‑centred. Leadership and management play a key role in setting this tone by encouraging open dialogue, valuing different perspectives, and creating teams where people feel safe to speak up, challenge ideas and be themselves.
Inclusion isn’t treated as a tick box exercise, but as part of how teams work day to day. Sky also demonstrates‑box exercise, but as part of how teams work day to day. Sky also demonstrates inclusion through its flexible and hybrid ways of working, which support a healthy work/life balance.
There’s trust in people to manage their time and responsibilities effectively, making it easier to balance work with personal commitments without compromising on impact or performance.
Sky actively promotes inclusion through strong employee networks and engagement activities. These networks provide opportunities to connect, learn, and raise awareness across a wide range of experiences and backgrounds. They help foster a sense of belonging while reinforcing Sky’s commitment to creating an environment where everyone feels respected, supported and able to thrive.
In your role, what are the best perks and benefits at Sky?
For me, the best perks and benefits at Sky are the flexibility, support and investment in people. Hybrid working makes it easier to maintain a healthy work/life balance, with trust from managers to deliver outcomes rather than focus on where or when you work.
Sky also offers a strong and well rounded‑rounded benefits package, including healthcare options, holiday purchase, and access to a wide range of employee discounts and rewards through Sky Benefits. These are practical benefits that genuinely support everyday life, not just work.
Beyond that, what I value most is the access to learning, development and employee networks. The opportunity to grow your skills, connect with colleagues across the business, and feel supported through inclusive networks makes a real difference to how rewarding it feels to work at Sky.
