I’m part of the Digital Technology team. My role as the Digital Portfolio Manager is to support the team with managing the portfolio of work that we need to deliver for the business.

We ensure we have visibility of demand from all segments of the business, and provide information to help align stakeholders within our department, and externally.

Describe a project, or career highlight, where you were able to make a difference.

Until recently, our department didn’t have the an easy way to visualise all the demand across the various development teams (there are 33 of them!).

We have been able to pull together a full view of demand in Jira, as well as planned capacity for when the work is expected.

This gives the teams and stakeholders more control of the conversation, and helps them make priority decisions. It’s still a work in progress and we have even more we want to accomplish!

At Sky we’re always challenging ourselves to deliver the next big thing. Describe what that’s like and why it’s exciting.

In my previous role I was part of the ‘Aura Project’, to deliver a new hub for the Broadband portfolio.

This project was exciting as we worked with Comcast colleagues and introduced new-to-Sky products.

In my role as the End-to-End Analyst, I was able to work with teams from across the business; from Product development to Change Delivery, and understand the impact to all the teams. It was a fantastic learning opportunity.

How is Sky an inclusive place to work where you can be yourself?

In both my current and previous teams, we have been a diverse group of people from across the globe. It’s truly a multi-national place to work.

At a recent team dinner, we were sharing stories of ancestral history, and it was amazing to see the connections being made between colleagues. I’ve been encouraged to grow by being given the opportunity to be involved in different projects and take on a new role.

As a working mom, I always joke about my ‘not for profit job’ (AKA: being a mom). I have found great support and flexibility at Sky.

The Osterley campus is really a beautiful place to work, and I’ve even managed a night out at our on-site cinema!
