I work in the GSP (Global Streaming Platform) - Global Commerce Architecture team. We are responsible for the sales and service journeys of the OTT platforms across EU, US and Africa.

As a Solution Architect, I am mainly focused on the partner integrations across our propositions working alongside the senior architects in the team. Partnerships include app store integrations and telco partnerships, where customers can stream content via our apps or partner streaming platforms.

What is it that you love most about your role?

Solving puzzles and collaborating with wide spectrum of stakeholders!

Every new business requirement is like solving a puzzle. At times the solution is straightforward or something that we have done in the past and we have a learning to refer to. Most of the times the puzzle isn't that straight forward. We must think about achieving the end goal by abiding to architectural principles, and strategic business decisions.

My role offers an engagement opportunity with EU/US partners, Sky Cyber Security teams, Compliance teams for GDPR and end-to-end Architects.

Describe a project, or career highlight at Sky where you were able to make a difference.

I have worked across multiple projects since I started when NOW was in it's early stages. I have witnessed our successful growth over the years living through rebrand of NOW, and the launch of Peacock, Showtime & Showmax.

A few years ago, when working in Operations, I was nominated for the 'Best of Sky' star awards by the Head of Customer Service Delivery - acknowledging my role in Operations.

A project where the CRM platform was revamped to improve key KPIs by redesigning the UI to serve customers better. The change improved agent’s response time by more than 50%, which resulted in a greater NPS score, and delivered better customer experience.

Outside Sky, I support charities such as the WWF, Dog's Trust and British Heart Foundation by contributing some money each month. I am an avid lover of animals and nature, so I try to contribute to charities working with same motto. I do adopt an animal when I can, in the last couple of years I had adopted a European Eagle Owl from our local Golders Hill Park zoo, where the money is used for their enrichment.

At Sky we’re always challenging ourselves to deliver the next big thing. Describe what that’s like and why it’s exciting.

I immensely believe in continuous learning. I am fortunate enough to work for a company that's fast paced, where every day is a school day.

Delivering next big things are always very exciting, and equally challenging. However, I feel the vibe in Sky matches 'Believes in better'! Having coworkers who are always driven help face the challenge with better spirit.

At the start of the year, I had to work on a project with extreme deadline. At the onset, it seemed very tight - but with the right strategy, and series of workshops we were able to break down requirements in smaller tasks. It helped us figure out what components could be built in parallel to be ready in time.

It was one of my very first mammoth projects, and I must say staying action-oriented with a positive mindset helped a lot. Also, being honest about my own capability, and seeking for help when in need, will definitely yield better results that won't delay critical projects.

How is Sky an inclusive place to work where you can be yourself?

I have been with Sky for 8+ years and I get asked this question a lot; "are you still working for Sky?"

Sky is a place with unlimited opportunities for me. Not only the working environment is warm and friendly, but also the importance of inclusion and diversity is exceptional.

In my career so far, I have switched between 5 job roles. Before moving into tech, I have worked in Customer Services, Operations and voluntarily in Data Protection & Compliance.

In every job role, I experienced equal encouragement to learn and grow internally.

I was able to pivot back into a tech job purely due to the nurturing environment. The appreciation received at every step of my career is all thanks to the support network, and the welcoming mentors who have always guided me.

What have you been most proud of in your career so far?

My recent career highlight is being nominated for 'Top 100 Women in Tech' Individual Award for 2024. To be recognised among so many talented women in tech is truly humbling, and I’m deeply grateful for the acknowledgment of my work.

Reaching this stage is a significant milestone, and I couldn't be prouder.
