I work in the National Accounts team; comprising of hotels, regional & national pub groups, restaurants, stadium & event spaces and a few other niche areas. My role is selling network & unified comms solutions to these hospitality sectors; driving sales, building relationships and delivering technology solutions for restaurants groups and event venues.
The main focus is building opportunities and delivering new revenue for Sky Business from brands that don’t have a relationship with Sky at the moment. I engage with these clients via our network of partners, spending time outreaching to specific brands, using LinkedIn and other prospecting tools to secure meetings and attending events to broaden our awareness.
General projects I work on are WiFi, network connectivity and SDWAN solutions. Connectivity products is a huge growth area for Sky Business, and we see it as our #1 strategic goal to deliver on.
What is it that you love most about your role?
Every day is different! Some days I can be out meeting clients and talking about our great Sky comms portfolio. Other days I'll be spending my time on LinkedIn, trying to find the contacts I need to engage with and evaluating the best way to get our brand and products in front of them. I'll also work with our partners to see if we have any mutual contacts we can work with.
During the summer, there's a lot of hospitality conferences and events that I attend, trying to find the right people to speak to. I'm always on the lookout for an opportunity to talk about our services. For me this position is all about relationships, and credibility.
Sky's brand is amazing, and this opens doors where they would normally remain shut. It's such an exciting place to be as we scale our IT & Comms business to become even bigger.
How is Sky an inclusive place to work where you can be yourself?
Sky were one of the top businesses I targeted when I was looking for a new role, and the inclusivity was one of the big factors in this. I discussed this in the interview process before I joined.
For me celebrating diversity gives everyone the opportunity to see things from their point of view. This is essential to work in a collaborative environment - and collaboration in my role is the only way I can succeed.
Sky's such a wonderful place to work and I'm excited to make a difference and be part of such an exciting future!
