Customer Facing | 14 August 2024 | 4 mins

My role at Sky as a Retail Sales Agent is to sell Sky Glass, TV and Broadband to new customers, and ensure existing customers have a smooth journey and a positive first interaction with Sky, and onwards. We deliver the best customer service we can to each customer.

I love all the different customers I get to interact with, and also working along side my amazing and inclusive colleagues.

Describe a project, or career highlight at Sky where you were able to make a difference.

A highlight of my career at this far is when I was working in the contact centre in 2018, where my role at the time was a Sales Advisor. After my first 6 months, with the support of my manager, I felt confident enough to go for a promotion.

I went through the process of the interviews, and fortunately got the job of Sales Specialist! The main thing I took away from the experience, is that there are a lot of opportunities for progressing within Sky - which is a big thing for me.

A time when I felt I made a difference is when I was recruited to be a part of the FTTH team. Our team was the first team trialling FTTH, so I was ringing customers offering them a trail for FTTH.

I felt this made a difference for me as I got to broaden my horizons and learn even more about Sky. I was the first point of contact for our new product FTTH and it was my responsibility to educate new customers about our products.

My goal for my Sky career is to keep getting better, and to keep progressing.

At Sky we’re always challenging ourselves to deliver the next big thing. Describe what that’s like and why it’s exciting.

It’s a great thing to always want to improve - to always strive for the next big thing. It’s keeps things exciting.

We never know what new amazing products to expect, and it’s exciting to be able to gain more knowledge and broaden your skills with every new big thing.

How is Sky an inclusive place to work where you can be yourself?

Since taking up my role in retail, my colleagues and managers have made it a great environment to learn and grow. From the minute I started in Blanchardstown, they have made me feel so welcomed and held my hand when I needed. Always there to give me a helping hand or anything I might not know they are there always supporting me.

I love coming to work everyday, and that’s down to my colleagues and managers. They make our Blanchardstown store what it is - the best.
