As a Customer Service Apprentice, I was doing the day-to-day job of a Customer Service Advisor which entailed giving excellent and positive customer service while dealing with and resolving customer issues. Alongside this I was also completing my apprenticeship course work for my Level 6 SVQ in Customer Service.
Due to being in a team with other apprentices i was able to build new relationships and friendships with people going on the same journey as myself.
What has been a career highlight/project for you that allowed you to make a difference?
A key career highlight for me was being selected as a main facilitator for a new starter group shortly after completing my apprenticeship. This opportunity recognised my drive to progress and the challenging work I put in during my first year in the business.
I led their four-week business-as-usual training and continued supporting them in Grad Bay, as they transitioned into live work. This experience allowed me to make a meaningful impact on new colleagues and helped develop my passion for coaching, people development, and supporting others to succeed.
What about your role makes you feel excited, ambitious, and inspired?
I love the rewarding aspect of my role, especially being able to provide customers with clear resolutions, knowing I have genuinely helped someone feels truly special. I’m also inspired by the progression opportunities within Sky.
When you show ambition and make it clear you want to develop; there are many paths to explore. This openness has already given me the chance to experience different areas of the business, helping me grow my skills, stay motivated, and feel excited about my future development.
How would you describe the inclusive environment at Sky?
Sky is a very inclusive environment where support is always available. There are numerous networks to turn to for help, and colleagues are consistently approachable and willing to assist. We also benefit from weekly team time to reflect and connect, which strengthens morale and encourages open communication.
Alongside this, they offer various incentives to keep motivation high and opportunities to socialise outside of work if you choose. The flexibility of working from home with two onsite days each week further supports a balanced and positive working experience.
In your role, what are the best perks and benefits at Sky?
One of the great benefits of working at Sky, alongside free Sky TV and discounted Broadband and SIM plans, is access to the Sky Benefits page. This platform gives employees the chance to make extra savings with a wide range of external companies, offering discounts on shopping, leisure, travel and more.
