I’m Izzy, a summer intern on the commercial TV products team.
I've supported the monitoring & analysis of TV experience. I've also been tracking the performance of content packs, like Netflix, Sky Kids, Multi-Screen, Wholehome, Ultra High Definition (UHD), and Adskip.
What do you love most about the role?
One of the things that I love most about my role is how dynamic it is. Every day there’s something new to work on, or a new event to plan and prepare for. New data is constantly being collated on the performance of different TV packs, which influences how the team prepares for the next quarter and the years ahead.
There’s always new information to consider when working in the TV products team, between seasonal events, new content releases & exciting offers. Not to mention considering the many routes a customer may take to acquire a TV pack. It’s really exciting to come into work every day knowing that it will be different from the day before!
Describe a project highlight at Sky where you were able to make a difference.
Although I’ve only been at Sky for a short time, I already feel like I’ve been able to contribute towards making a difference. Recently, I’ve been collecting, analysing and displaying data to map out the different routes customers can take to obtain TV add-on products. In doing so, I've been able to inform my team on the performance of these different routes. I’ve also developed ideas to improve the customer journey and provide the best possible viewing experience. As an intern, I've been able to contribute real value within my team. Having the opportunity to work towards improving a customer’s experience has been really rewarding!
At Sky, we’re always challenging ourselves to deliver the next big thing. Describe what that’s like and why it’s exciting.
Since joining Sky, I've seen how much the business drives towards delivering the next big thing. Whether that's the evolution of Sky Glass, developments in broadband and mobile, or creating the best Sky Original content. Within my team, there’s a constant drive to innovate with the continual creation of new approaches and rewards for Sky TV customers. It’s been really cool to see the process of how these offers come to life, from idea to execution. The team is always one step ahead in thinking about how to make a customer’s experience with Sky TV better.
How is Sky an inclusive place to work where you can be yourself?
Since my first day as an intern at Sky, I've felt welcomed by everyone I've met. Inclusivity is central to the culture at Sky, and I've experienced this the most through people's willingness to meet and help one another. No matter what their role or level of seniority may be, from intern to managing director. As a result, I've had the opportunity to speak with people across loads of different teams, which has helped me understand how Sky operates. Starting work as an intern can be daunting at first, but Sky’s welcoming environment and the friendliness of everyone around me instantly put me at ease.
