What area of Sky do you work in and what do you do on a daily basis? I work within the Home Service department, as part of the Broadband Tech team. My role is visiting customers at their homes to help them with their broadband.
How did you get into your role? I wanted a change of career and when I found out about the role here, I knew it would be perfect for me so I applied.
How have you made a difference in your role / what’s been your proudest moment working here? My answer to both of those questions would be becoming a mentor for new members of our team. Despite being relatively new in the role, it’s great to be recognised and trusted to be a mentor, it’s a fantastic feeling.
What surprised you most about your role? That the job varies from customer to customer, there’s never a dull day at work.
Describe your work/life balance: My work/life balance is good. I feel like I’m listened to and the company tries hard to accommodate our needs.
Have you had the opportunity to progress? What advice would you give to others trying to develop their career? Yes, I’ve had conversations with my manager and we’re working on training & development together. My advice would be to be honest and open with your manager, and set your own goals.
