This ensures industry leading levels of availability for a diverse range of end to end broadcast systems and services. Broadcast Engineering brings all platform design, development, delivery and support activity under a single key focus group.
We have developed an off the shelf programme, tapping into all different areas within TV Engineering; from Design, through to Support and the Asset Management of our equipment throughout Sky’s site.
Your key responsibilities
Once we know a bit about you we will tailor your week with us to ensure you gain the best experience for you.
There are various roles within Engineering; we are involved in the Making, Shaping and Sharing of Broadcast material.
Making – We support and look after the technology used in the studios from cameras to sound mixing desks along with the video walls and galleries.
Shaping – We support and look after the editing and graphics suites where the programmes are made, including the creative equipment. We also provide graphics and data programming software support for our 24/7 live channels Sky news and Sky Sports News.
Sharing – We support transmission of all of the channels from our transmission centres in Chilworth and Osterley. We help content delivery to make sure incoming content from around the world gets to the right place in the right format for broadcast.
You must be keen, enthusiastic and interested in Broadcast or TV technology/engineering with good level of maths. We are looking for individuals that are born problem solvers with an inquisitive mind, as this really is the department that takes a look ‘under the bonnet’ of Broadcasting.
