Name: Sarah Hamilton
Tell us a bit about your role – what’s your job title and what do you do at Sky?
I am a broadband tech expert working in the Midlands. The role itself is face to face with customers in their homes. Finding out about their needs and finding solutions to fix or optimise Sky products.
What were you doing before you joined?
I was a hot tub technician. Working for a family run business in Tamworth.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
The day to day interaction with customers and their families. Plus, knowing that nobody is the same so I have to adapt quickly.
What’s your team like?
I think I have the best team! They're always on hand if a question is raised, always ready to help and welcome me especially as I’m the only woman in the team. Friendly, engaging and quick with the banter!
What training and support have you received working here?
Since working within the role I had a 4-week starter course, then 2 weeks in the field with my mentor, Terry. Learning about the role from him and the rest of the team and knowing that no two jobs are ever the same. I’m currently booked on a course at end of June that will be open reach accreditation.
So far, what’s been your biggest achievement here?
The realisation that I have found a job that I really enjoy and the difference I feel I can make to a customer’s day!
