Get the inside track on Strategy at Sky with Daisy
'You work across a huge variety of projects that have a real impact'
What did you do before joining Sky?
I studied a maths degree at the University of Bath. As part of my degree I also took on a year-long placement at the Walt Disney Company as a Digital Strategy and Business Development Intern in my third year.
What are the opportunities and challenges of being on the Sky strategy graduate programme?
There’s such a range of opportunities on the Strategy scheme, such as tailored training across a wide range of subjects, working with people from a wide range of backgrounds, and experts across the business who are always happy to impart their knowledge. You work across a huge variety of projects that have a real impact at Sky. If you are really passionate about certain areas I have found the team very willing to get you involved in related projects. The challenge is a fast paced environment where the work you’re doing is important, although I wouldn’t say these are bad things!
What have been the highlights at work?
In my last rotation I got to help put together a proposition for an additional section on Sky that would include some of my favourite content, which wasn’t currently available. We had to evaluate how valuable we thought the shows were and which we would include in our proposition. It was great to be able to be able to contribute my opinion on shows that, although weren’t as widely known in the business, had a huge cult following.
What are your favourite TV shows?
I adore Westworld and Peaky Blinders, and although I’m very late to the game I have recently got into Parks & Rec (definitely didn’t binge watch 23 episodes in one weekend…)
