What do we do?
The Strategic Insight team help the business make key decisions by telling stories about consumers, our customers and the markets we operate in leveraging a broad set of customers behavioural and research data. We are passionate about our customers and how we can better connect them to the things that they love. We have created a positively challenging culture in our team where we look get the best out of each other but doing so in a collaborative and inclusive way.
We’re lucky enough to work across all areas and products of the business, this means we get to work on projects that can influence strategic decisions that impact product, content, marketing & brand.
For example, in the last month we have been speaking to our stakeholders in the business about which aspects of our VIP loyalty program they love the most, we have given our ‘State of the Nation’ update on the macro and internal factors that are impacting performance and consumer sentiment and we have been reviewing the performance of our partner apps to better understand how our customers are using them and we have been looking at the performance of our best shows and channels.
How do we do it?
We bring together research, analytics and market Insights to better understand our customers. We are using the latest and greatest tools to achieve this, we’ve recently deployed Google Cloud Platform for storing all the data across our products and services, with the team trying and testing the analytics tools and techniques that comes with the Google Cloud Platform.
Our research team brings us closer to the customer in every sense, we continue to innovative on how we can get closer to our customer. For example, we recently deployed a research messaging app that gathered viewer comments in real time for the series launches of Riviera and Chernobyl. This gave our content team immediate feedback on the first episode of our major release shows. We frequent bring our customers and prospects into our business to hear in their words what matters most to them.
We have developed a Strategic Insights training program that ensures our team is trained up on the latest tools and techniques.
What does the future hold?
We are forward looking and restless, we are conscious we work in a rapidly evolving industry and within a company that expects high performance, standing still for us is going backward.
We want to answer the ‘big questions’, we want to pre-empt and give direction on what the greatest opportunities and challenges are for the business. We want to achieve this by understanding what our customers love and how we can better connect them to the things that they love. Given the rapidly evolving market we are in we have been building our team to embrace and deliver at pace to drive our business forward.
We have brought together a group of talented and motivated people who come from different backgrounds and disciplines but share the common trait of that they are curious and are passionate about telling the story of our customers in a way that can positively influence decisions. Our team has grown from UK and Ireland, but we are excited to start working with our European colleagues to start helping them to better understand consumers and how best to meet their needs.
