‘That’s right we provide all training so a job in Home Service could be #UpYourStreet’
Mason, a Sky super-fan loves the iconic van with its liveries showing off the amazing content we show to our customers. After receiving a message on Twitter, Lorraine Sutherland an Advisor in our Dunfermline Contact Centre, reached out over the internal messaging app to see what we could do. Within 24 hours she had a flurry of messages from employees wanting to help.
In the video above you’ll see that we didn’t just stop at finding a replica van for Mason, we took our very own home service engineers Aeoleon Rankine and Gavin Megson alongside their team manager Jonathan Winter to visit Mason personally and give him a ride in the Sky van alongside some personalised gifts. Forewarning, the following video is extremely cute and may result in you shedding a tear!
Mason’s mother Michelle had the following to say about the day’s festivities:
“My little boy who has special needs is obsessed with Sky TV, he has been for a long time. He loves their vans and Sky boxes, he can even take them apart and put them back together. Anyway, I’ve been searching for one of the vans as a replica for my little boy but couldn’t find the new vans anywhere, so I messaged Sky and they did one better, they arranged to come out and meet my son and wow they took him for a drive in their Sky van and brought him loads of goodies even his own Sky shirt and helmet with his name on. It made my little boys day and I can’t thank them enough for what they did for us, it was amazing, so if you can share this far and wide please do so and give Sky the credit they deserve because this was a once in a lifetime opportunity for my little boy, he’s only 5 and loves Sky.
