Our people and customers are at the heart of Allan’s role
“My proudest moments are when I see those that I’ve worked with progress, either within their current role or on to new positions within the business”
Name: Allan McVeigh
Job title: Subject Matter Expert
What area of Sky do you work in and what do you do on a daily basis? I currently work on the floor coaching new and existing Advisors. I also help to deliver important messages through team briefs, as well as collecting information on customer trends in order to report back to our management team.
How did you get into your role? I got into my current role by joining as an Advisor where I performed at a high level and displayed the right behaviours. I then became an accredited trainer which led me to become a Role Model and then a Subject Matter Expert, supporting our Advisors on the floor.
How have you made a difference in your role / what’s been your proudest moment working here? I’ve been able to support over 200 Advisors through their induction during my time here. I’ve also been able to inspire our Advisors through the Academy and work with a number of them on their development. My proudest moments are when I see those that I’ve worked with progress, either within their current role or on to new positions within the business.
What’s the most enjoyable thing about your job? I’m able to interact with new people on a daily basis which is great as we have a variety of personalities here. I also love being able to help our Advisors progress within the company and playing a part in getting them there.
Describe your contact centre - what makes it a great place to work? A fun and fast paced environment with lots of great benefits.
Have you had the opportunity to progress in your role? What advice would you give to others trying to develop their career? Lead by example, display the right behaviours and be mindful that learning is an ongoing process. Make use of the tools and support available and you’ll get where you want to go.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself. I used to be Wedding MC (Master of Ceremonies). I ran over 200 weddings before I worked here, I was known as the “wedding guy”.
